Empire City joins Feeding Westchester’s annual campaign to raise awareness surrounding hunger in Yonkers, Westchester, and New York State

(Yonkers, NY) – In an effort to support a local movement to raise awareness for hunger in Westchester County, Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts is once again joining forces with Feeding Westchester for their annual campaign for Hunger Action Month this September. With September 12 designated as Hunger Action Day, a day set aside during Hunger Action Month to inspire communities to take action and help those who may not know where their next meal will come from, Empire City Casino will light its iconic porte-cochère entrance and exterior building lights orange to raise awareness of the nearly 50-million Americans impacted by the issue of food insecurity. Empire City Vice President Will Lead Statewide Association whose members Generate Hundreds of Millions Annually for New York State Schools

(ALBANY, NY) – The Board of Directors of the New York Gaming Association (NYGA), a trade association of racing and gaming venues throughout the state, has named Taryn Duffy, Vice President of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs at Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts, as the next Chair of NYGA, the first woman to hold the post.

The New York Gaming Association advocates for and advances the interests of its members located at racing and gaming venues throughout the state. The association works in partnership with state government on long-term strategies to increase revenues for education, support the racing, breeding and gaming industries, and generate new jobs and revenue for the benefit of all New Yorkers.

The annual event, co-founded by Quinn after his diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in 2013, became a global phenomenon in 2014 as thousands of people from around the world participated in the challenge on social media. Since 2015, Empire City Casino has hosted the annual challenge in support of Quinn and to continue to generate awareness for ALS research. The festivities begin at 1:00 p.m. with food concessions available for purchase, music, and much more. July 4th Fireworks Festivities to be Held at Historic Yonkers Pier

YONKERS, NY (July 2019) – Celebrate Independence Day at the Yonkers Waterfront on July 4th with fireworks, live music and exciting food offerings from area restaurants.

The fun will take place at the Yonkers Historic Pier at 71 Water Grant Street. Entertainment by a DJ begins at 7 p.m., followed by a fireworks display along the Hudson at 9:15 p.m. presented by Pyro Engineering/Volt Live.
