Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts To Reopen Monday, September 21

Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts (“Empire City”) today announced that it will reopen in a limited capacity to the public at 10:00am on Monday, September 21 , following closure earlier this year amidst the COVID-19 crisis. Hosted, invitation-only access will be available to certain MLife members ahead of September 21st. Upon re-opening, there will be restrictions on capacity and food and beverage availability, per state regulation.

Dante Nero Headlines Empire City Casino Comedy Night on July 12

The laughfest continues at Empire City Casino as funny man Dante Nero gets ready to take to the mic at Comedy Night on Wednesday, July 12th.  Drawing from his many life experiences in a wide array of fields, including competing as a fencer in college at SUNY New Paltz and his work as a bouncer and former exotic dancer, Nero is sure to have the crowd in hysterics as he is joined on-stage by featured performer, Sarah Tollemache, and MC, Jeremy Adams.  The night of laughs kicks off at 8:00 p.m. in the casino’s Good Time Room.

Local High School Student Receives $1,000 Timothy J. Rooney Distinguished Graduate Award

Shane Rafferty, Yonkers resident and recent graduate of Archbishop Stepinac High School, was selected as the 2017 recipient of the Timothy J. Rooney Distinguished Graduate Award. He was presented with the $1,000 scholarship on June 29 at the Lincoln Park Taxpayers Association (LPTA) meeting in Yonkers. LPTA worked closely with the Archbishop Stepinac High School administration to identify a deserving student who might otherwise not receive scholarship funding. Among notable attendees at the presentation was Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, who addressed the Association.
